My car is a 54 plate with 178000 miles on recently serviced all filters and oil ,new inter cooler hose,new tyres brakes and discs I got the car running as it should a couple of weeks after the intercooler hose replacement started a long journey just filled up after about 7-8 mile of heavy traffic started to accelerate
The job itself is straight forward on the 1.8 TDCi with no special tooling required. The only items to check are: Fuse (s) Relay. Wiring harness. Electrical connector (s) Glow plug (s) Glow plug wire. Check the glow plugs with a ohm meter and look for a value of 0.2Ω between vi & earth.
If the gp light is flashing, it's got nothing to do with the glow plugs at all! The car's computer (ecu) has logged one or more errors and you need to plug in a code reader and find a what code (s) is there.
