Combination artifact. Combination artifacts are special artifacts introduced in Shadow of Death expansion. They can be created by combining a set of specific artifacts. Combining is performed by equipping all the required artifacts, and right-clicking one of them. This will also dismantle the combination artifact back to its original pieces.

Allows Ranger to choose 1 favored enemy from the Avenger's Guild in any Sylvan town. All Ranger's troops will receive a 40% chance to inflict a critical hit upon that creature, giving double damage to it. Before choosing a creature as a favored enemy, the Ranger must kill two whole populations of those creatures.

Don't know if I can link it here, but there is a short YouTube series by a guy named TheKnownWorld that teaches some of the basics. Mostly though IMO it's a game that you just have to learn by playing it a lot and exploring and trying out everything you can, because there is too much detail to be covered in a simple guide.

Units. Castle: A very good starting choice for beginners. With two ranged, two flying units, as well as overall strong troops, it's hard to screw things up even as beginner. Pikemen are the strongest first level unit ( highly debatable, Centaurs are also very, very good, see discussion below) and can clear most wandering packs when you have
